Rumor's Eviota Pellucida

I am contemplating on incorporating an IceProbe to the sump/refugium extensions to my Goby tank. It should be able to bring it down to about 24 degrees. With some acclimitisation, I believe it should be ok.

Most of the Gobies seem to be able to take it down to about 72 degrees F so I suppose the goby community can remain.

Finally manage to get a shot of the other Eviota, its hard to tell at this point but both seem to have proportionally high dorsal fin as compared to their body mass.

But the other bigger Eviota seem to exhibit some red shiny dots on its fins. So till I find other distinguishing features, I will keep documenting :)

Thanks.

Yep, these were shot in the wee hours of the morning.

Since I couldn't sleep, thought I'd rouse them up so I can shoot them when they come out to feed.

They are doing really well. Grown quite a bit feeding on my food mix.

Bit of tussling with the White lines, but some friendly competition seems to be bringing them out more :)

Rumour, Nice eviotas you got there! i have one personally myself.. but the thing that bothers me is does a big stomach means that they are fed? cos i realise that mine doesnt eat much or havent seen it eating yet.. but it has a big stomach.. swimming around so i dont think its sick. lolx..

anyway where can i get selcon? thinking of enriching my frozen brine with selcon and garlic then feed it to my two little gobies - red headed goby ( dont know its scientific name yet ) and the eviota perllucida..

Logically, if you compare their body mass to the kind of feed we typically use, they'd possibly only need a nip of this and that, or a single whole mysis to fill their stomach. They also do not reside in turbid waters which means less energy expension. So a little goes a long way.

I wouldn't be too worried about the big tummy, provide a stress free environment and they should do great.

Not sure you can get SELCO or SELCON locally, I fly mine in from BrineShrimpDirect. An alternative would be KENT marine's ZoeCon which is available from EAN.

Thanks ...

I thought the Pellucidas are tough to shoot, the white lines are even more fidgety.

It'll be a while before I put my back and patience to the test again.

Sure, whenever, pm me your number. :)
