They live on rocks..not within the sand. They are more nocturnal like most crustaceans..but if they smell food during the day they will become active.

It is reef-safe in the sense that they don't harm any inverts..except very small snack size worms, etc. They might sting your fish out of defence with their anemones. But I have not experienced any problems with this behavior. ;)

Always something more important than fish.

thx fuel..but do i need to get small anemone for them?

and where to get those small little anemones?

you can;t find anemones that small in FS. Someone says they will use aptisia anemones.. :P

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

The pompoms are suppose to come with the crab. If the crab does not have two anemone, don't buy it, at least you should pay full prize for it. What's a cheerleader without her pom poms?

Interesting that they may ise aiptasia, but I am not surprised. If that is the case, caution must be exercise when choosing a crab to make sure it is not carrying aiptasia, which are abundant in LFS tanks.

haha.. yah true.. but I guess he's asking about contingency plan.. like if the anemone dies..

even if they are carrying aiptisia it wouldn't spread coz most of the time the anemone will be in the crab's claws.. doubt they will reproduce..

 Aiptasia will spread if it is in the tank. If a tentacle from the aiptasia breaks off, it will grow into a new one. From one on the rock it will spread into hundreds then thousands.
