Was thinking of buying a venturi skimmer......

Saw this ViaAqua Skimmer with UV sterlizer...........

better than prizm??

the UV sterlizer good??

the uv sterilizer is not included as far as i noe..must buy seperately.for that kind of price i suggest u buy a macro or a weipro set..IME,i dun really trusts those products that says that the product can be a filter,protein skimmer,uv steriliser blah blah blah..correct me if i'm wrong.

from what i hv heard from a lfs owner who is also carrying this PS, he said this PS is a replica of the Red Sea Prizm Skimmer which is made in China/Taiwan.

THE UV is included in the Deluxe version which would cost around $90 or more.

Yes the UV have been tested to be able to control ich for a 2 feet.

It may look or is a replica of the RS PS but it's definitely much better that it. I've used the RS hangon PS and this and I find this ViaAqua better in its skimming.

and you should see some of their "LV" bags.....look like the real thing.....some more fire proof!!!!

i think what moron_clown said is true...i mean all in ones are pretty suspicious most of the time.....

but what if u just consider raw skimming power??

like just skimmate......dun include the UV and whatever cartiage they have.......

and what filter medium are they talking about on the box anyway...seems weird...anyone using this??

You can do away with the filter media and add your own bags of rowaphos, GAC, etc in that compartment what.

And like I said the UV can control a 2 feet. Tested and proven.

i guess the good thing about this ViaAqua is that it is hang on and pretty neat as compare to maybe weipro.........weipro has that huge circular sponge which i dont really like......

At $90 for deluxe version, its still much cheaper than Weipro considering the Weipro still needs a pump.

With pump would definitely cost much more.

whats worst is if you get a 2212 or 2214, its SO MUCH BIGGER and Longer that the Viaaqua one.
