150w MH for 2.5ft tank

thinking of getting such a light. if i do not hang it up, and use a stand instead, is the spread enough? wats more i have a stupid centre brace which will affect the light punch....

IMO 2 x 150 watts will do better in terms of coverage.

With a proper reflector, u shd have pretty good coverage

Spider would be good but not sure how u gonna mount ur 150W DE and UV glass shield. Unless it SE then things won't be so complicated.

For 150W, i believe they only come in DE version. So u r leave with no alternatives if u oreadi owned a 150W MH. Else i would reckon u to go for 250 SE...coz the E40 holder can be fixed on the spider reflector and the SE bulb is UV shield...no nd to headache on where to get UV glass for DE.
