Yes, it's a macroalgae and I suggest you keep it. I used to have this fine purple-leaved macroalgae. It totally blew me away until the aquarium was too clean without any phosphates.

Nice!

I still missed a fine-leaved prostrate purple macroalgae that I used to have. When the aquarium was too "clean", they died off.

omg so beautiful. looks like dragon breath

Thanks bro. I really have no idea what species this is. It looks almost like a piece of pink plastic, very unusual texture. Here's another pic from a different angle.

Quick update. The macroalgae is now really huge. At the same time, this caulerpa also started sprouting from nowhere, along with a huge hair algae bloom. It looks really untidy now, any experts have advice on how to trim it down to look nicer? Thanks

Well I'm no expert, but I would trim the runners, don't trim the main branch attached to the live rock. As a bonus, it might grow back & branch out, growing out into a nicer shape in the future

btw looks like there's some bryopsis growing too?

Thanks for the info bro. I'm not sure if it's bryopsis, I just assumed it's hair algae with very stiff stems with tree branch patterns. I usually manually pull it off but it's difficult as it's quite stiff. Snails seem to like it though but not enough to clear it off

Wow beautiful growth! Yes like what JMW mentioned, i'd trim the caulerpa down so that it doesnt compete too much with the red. If they grow too wild and you still want to keep them, might want to try separating them by cutting the 'rhizome', so lesser chances of mass dying. Not too sure if 'rhizome' is the correct description, Its the one shown by the arrow here http://www.wetwebmedia.com/ca/volume_6/volume_6_4/Caulerpa_drawing.jpg
