Eggs sacs?

Hi guys,

Found these funny egg sac - looking things on my glass about an hour ago.

There are 4 sacs lined up, 2 eggs in each, except for one which looks to be empty.

The attached picture is all I can get on my cam. I'll see if I can get a better one.

Any ideas?

This may sound weird but I was hoping for something more exciting ...

Wonder how they even do it, my snails are peanut sized, they must be pretty hardy to spawn in a tank 2 months old.

My Skunks are carrying eggs too, and stranger than that, BOTH of them ...??? ... I know they spawn after they molt, anyone care to enlighten?

That doesn't look like snail eggs.

It's too big.

Rumor, your mated cleaner shrimps can both carry eggs but needs the other to fertilize them.

Is that a featherstar I see in your tank? How long have you had it? It is doomed to die in a short time because it feeds on live phytoplankton and zooplankton only.

My advice is not to purchase them.

Their arms will break off one by one and will stain the water/sand red.

Morgan has already informed me, an impulse purchase though . About 2 weeks since I bought it, few fallout and is being fed KENT's Phyto-plex (correct type?).

I'll see how long it lasts, but its likely to be my last purchase as it has the tendency to clamber all over my corals anyway.

All the featherstars I see in my dives are always clinging onto gorgonians, rocks and corals and waving in the current, in an attempt to capture as much food as possible.

They are very sensitive to light at night... and will hide. They are amazing creatures...

Jus removed some from my reef.......

They are very sensitive to light at night... and will hide. They are amazing creatures...

They certainly are.

Perched on a rock in the current from my return pump, it moves the arms gracefully as it tries to capture as much of the Phto-plex I squirt into the flow....

Too bad it doesn't last, but I'll see how long I can maintain it.

It's a green algae that looks like a bubble.

I used to get a lot of these egg cases in my 2' tank. They are snail eggs. What you see is the egg case that is secreted by the snail but the eggs itself is really tiny.

Just an update:

Tanzy may be right, I see some really tiny snails about lately, but a lot more egg sacs too... (I really do need a better shot than the one in my earlier post don't I?) The snails must be really productive for some reasons.

AT & Morgan are right too, found my Feather Star 'kaput', and had hell of a time cleaning the arms out... interesting enough, the arms turn purple during decomposition.

They use to share this enclave behind the rocks, but the smaller skunk moved out and is now living separately. (fight? ready to spawn?)

Maybe I'll need to get another skunk to try to get them fertilised.

Any comments?

what is the color of the eggs? if its bright green means its fertilized

They are in fact, green, I'm not too sure about it being bright green though....

How do they look like, unfertilised?
