I am thinking of getting a gravel cleaner as my sandbed is turning into a dump site. Any brand or model would u recommend? Many thanks!

Filter floss doesn't make a difference to diatoms(brown thing u are referring to). Probably high nitrates that is causing it

Will it help to make the sandbag cleaner by introducing clean up crew into the tank?

You could consider getting nassarius snails to sift your sand & clean up some of its detritus

just get thost normal hand pumps. the gravel cleaner works just fine.
