Hello I plan to get an emperor Angel fish and I've never had Angel fish so is there any advice on this beautiful fish? And if I place this fish in my tank how many other fishes can I put inside because I know this fish needs a lot of swimming space. I plan to have a 140g tank. 3ft X 2.5ft X 2.5ft. And is this fish aggressive towards any other fish? I plan to have RBTA and some mushrooms and Xenia too.and GSP

hi, i have an emperor angel, and indeed it is a very beautiful fish, but my suggestion is that you only add it when your tank is mature enough .mine only started eating after a week or so. you tank should be big enough, but try not to get an emperor that is big, mine is a rather smaller sized one in a 422. and it has a good amount of room to swim in. angel fishes are known to nip on soft corals and lps, so gsp ,mushrooms and xenia may be a problem. mine however doesn't bother any of my soft corals.

angelfishes in general do tend to nip on corals , but most should be fine with sps. but do make sure that your tank is mature enough and the other fishes are doing well first

Thanks for your suggestionBtw how many fishes you have in your tank with the emperor Angel inside? Coz I don't want to stock up too many fish until it has no space to swim

I had a Juvenile angelfish once, not more than 5 cm and it was extremely aggressive to my other fishes. My tank it a 55g and the only other tank mates it had then was a juvenile foxface that was almost thrice it's size. They are known to be quite territorial i belive.
