SRC Member Mike Stone Posted September 24, 2016 SRC Member Share Posted September 24, 2016 Lol, Jimmy still hesitating over PUB bill.Buy a good compressor chiller such as Artica or Teco, they are more reliable and also temp exchange using titanium coil is more efficient.Saw someone selling 2nd hand chiller, can consider, 1/10 HP for 10-20g tank is enough.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good to hear another 10G out there, for us the challenge will be space & maintaining stable parameters... I'm new to the hobby too, much more to learn from the many experienced reefers here! But most definitely any questions just drop me a message, will guide if I know the answer.. Cheers!
SRC Member sharonleong Posted October 25, 2016 SRC Member Share Posted October 25, 2016 Hello how your alk level now? how you maintain it?
SRC Member JMW Posted October 26, 2016 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 26, 2016 Hi my alk is around 7-8 now. Striving to keep it in this range. I'm maintaining it via automated dosing by pre-mixing KH solution inside my ATO's freshwater volume. The idea is as evaporation takes place daily, the ATO will automatically dispense KH solution too at a relatively even rate thruout 24 hours, preventing sudden KH spikes/drops which SPS don't like

SRC Member Limited Posted October 26, 2016 SRC Member Share Posted October 26, 2016 Can maintain within 8-8.4?Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
SRC Member JMW Posted October 27, 2016 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 27, 2016 I don't see maintaining that a problem as there is significant water movement on the surface because of the way I position my wave maker to increase turbulence, I have low bioload, biweekly wc, tank is in a ventilated room. Til now have not seen a need to run reverse photo periods or skimmers to further help maintain it
