Crab in Live Rock

Hello guys I was taking a look at my small piece of live rock and i found out htere was a crab living in it. I got that rock when I bought a cluster of yellow polyps from Fresh n Marine shop @ macpherson. About a few weeks later the polyps died, and so i just left the rock there. Only about close to 1 WHOle yeaer later, I took a close look at that rock by picking it up and out of the water, and saw dat crab.

More bout da crab: about 1 cm or smaller in length, saw it only for a few seconds and told my mum and then it hid back into the rock.

ANy idea what species it is? I mean, possible species? It's grey brown with some stripes, that's all i saw.

From Live rock ? Most likely is hairy crab that we hated most.

I'd aim to remove it, I had 3 crabs in mine, and it took me 2 months to finally get rid of them.

This morning I got a closer look and its claws had black tips. And so i assume it was nocturnal because in Singapore 6 am is still dark and we are all in sg, i think.

Most hitch hiking crabs are nocturnal. To see them in action, have all lights at night, then with a flashlight you can see them venturing out of their hiding place

Why damage will the crab do to the system?I think I might have one in my tank too. A hitch hiker.

the crab will eat your corals or your livestock.

If you have a sump, u can put the crab there
