Question on chiller

Hi All,

I have a question here. I've recently bought a chiller. Is it normal for a Hailea HS28A chiller with 1/10 HP to cool down a 60cmx28cmx20cm (2ft)tank from 26c to 25c using about 35mins to 40mins on an average temp day? I'm having an external temperature probe installed and my canister has a flow rate of about 700L/H.

My placement of the chiller is at a space where air ventilation is quite good. Chiller kick-out time is about 50mins to 1 hour.

It could depends on various factors as well like temperature of the room , the weather seem to be hotter these days .

Hi thanks for reply, i took the timing today during noon time about 1pm. surrounding temp about 31 or 32 c. i think the surrounding temp can roughly be estimated from the kick-out time.

Lately my chiller can't event bring it down to the cut off temp. It really is dependent on your ambient vs your desired.

Mind if I ask how you got your tank down to 26 to begin with

I don't see any issue with your chiller. Probably your ambient is high which cos the water to heat up really fast from 25 to 26.

I guess if you set your temperature to 26 and kick on at 27, you may be seeing faster cooling and lesser kick in time

Given sufficient time, 1/10 should be able to bring the temp down to 26
