Hi All

I just received the following Dr. Tim products :

1) Dr. Tim's Eco-Balance
2) Dr. Tim's Waste Away
3) Dr. Tim's Re-Fresh

I tried to remove the diatom and algae from my display tank using 3 dose of Dr. Tim's Re-Fresh (spread of 48 hrs between each dose w/ skimmer offline), but seems like the condition did not improve.

Anyone can advise on this?

Many thanks

Best Regards
Koh

To remove diatoms and algae from a tank you need to remove , silicate ,phosphate and nitrate .

If I'm not wrong ,all the product you mentioned above are bacteria , then you will need a carbon source (vodka, biopallets etc2) to complement them .

There are lots of running system to choose from , you can read a lot here in this forum , do a search .

Then it's a matter of time and patience , it takes time for bacteria to cultivate , multiply and get to work.

If it's as simple as dumping off the shelve 'medicine' into the tank, then I guess there won't be hundreds of thread complaining about algae /diatoms/cyno/dyno here.
