If the LFS has the proper documentation, then AVA will not raid them wat... if they dunt have, then they deserved to be raided. We all need to be more responsible in our attitude toward LS. IF they are being sold, they need to be licensed and certified legal. I am sure all of us here want the natural reefs to be managed correctly and not deleted of its beauty rite?

100% agreed! May have to pay a little more, but at leasdt you do not rob future generations of their heritage! B)

I sense a tick tock.

If the LFS has the proper license for sale of such items, i don't see why A*A will want to raid them and confiscate the items. If they are operating without a license, then of course they deserve this.

i'll not be surprise if A*A ppl are already 'endorsing' this forum.

so much free flow of info going on here...really great place for harvesting info from unknowing agents who post here...

This is a public forum.

Of course, the AVA is here! The LFSes are here too!

There is nothing to hide and information is free. The hobby trade needs to be regulated and its AVA's job to do so. The hobbyists are the end users and the sellers should abide by CITIES laws and AVA regulations to do biz anyway.

What I don't like is that the someone in the industry is always pinning its woes on SRC when raids happen. Before SRC came up, there were raids also and I wonder who was the scapegoat?

As far as I am concerned, the authorities need education on marine stuff as much as the LFS and the hobbyists do.

The passionate hobbyists probably know alot more and are more updated then AVA & the LFSes are for obvious reasons... it will be good for the public to learn all they can about the marine environment, so we the hobbyists should do what we can.

I see benefits all around even if there will be dropouts from the hobby due to rising costs. At the end of the day, there will be no casual reefers but serious ones and more livestock will be saved from irresponsible and unknowledgeable hobbyists.

My 2 cents.
