Yup this is real stuffs, more than ten yrs ago already bedok jetty have these kinda stingray and also use to have lots of grouper under the jetty. But must wait till dec-jan period.

Yrs ago I fish at changi ferry terminal. There are many stingray and grouper there too. Best of all, night time can see many tiny brown batfish swim to the surface of the water, just use net will do ... kee..kee..

i think u need to like clean it then the ammonia smell wil not be so muhc.. clean it with floor and salt..

All Stingray big or small if not properly cut will have the ammonia taste.

There is a technique to cut the stingray. When you cut the stingray, NEVER break the bladder.

Once the bladder breaks, it is a waste.

The problem with big stingray, you can't use a scissors to cut the portion surrounding the bladder. They use axe. Thus, you may accidentally cut or blown the bladder.

My fishing kaki was there when they brought up the stingray. The tattoed guy took 45 minutes taking turn with other angler to fight and bring it up. Imagine bringing the monster up from a jetty?

Stingray are aplenty on many sandy bottom area of Singapore.

East coast all the way to Changi Naval base are reclaimed land thus got plenty of sandy bottom.

With the proper bait and knowledge of the sandy bottom terrain, you can get lucky to land any size stingray.

I once caught a 45kg stingray in southern island... it takes us (4 person) 1 hour to bring the fellow up... its strike on a 30lbs line, therefore got to bring it up slowly

ya, shovelnose shark is common in sg water....
