Appreciate if anyone using Jebao wp10 or rw4 can advise, is it possible to set the wavemaker to be running only 5-10 mins every hour?

Example, OFF@1.00pm-1.50pm, ON@1.50pm-2.00pm, OFF@2.00pm-2.50pm, ON@2.50-3.00pm,....etc.

I have enough flow in my tank, but just want to direct flow on a small corner once in a while.

Agree with PoorPicasso. A simple $15 digital timer will work.

Else if you have an Apex Neptune system, its possible to mod a cable to control the Jebao wavemaker.

Buy a digi timer...

Meaning, power the Powerhead with a Timer, without using the Controller? Can the Powerhead be used without the Controller?

Or isit the Controller be set to always ON, so every time when Timer turns on, Powerhead will turn on.

Sorry, never used a wavemaker before, so dunno how they connect.

Something like this : http://list.qoo10.sg/item/DIGITAL-LCD-DAY-TIME-ELECTRONIC/406096784

Connect the power adapter (which then connects to your controller->wavemaker) to the timer & set it to switch on / off as per your desired time.

So the wp10 must be used with the controller. It cannot be used alone by itself, it must have the controller connected, right?

Because I don't need a controller, just need to on/off the Powerhead.  In that case, just buy a cheap normal Powerhead plus a timer will do.

The controller is needed for the wavemaker as it controls the speed & pulse timing.

Your idea of using a powerhead instead can also work.
