Chiller cooling speed

Hi Guys

Just want to check how fast it takes for your chiller to cool down your 3-4ft tank.. just want a comparison cos the one i currently use takes a while (1.5 - 2) hours to cool from 31 degrees to 26 degrees.

I am using a teco 680 with a 3x2x2 tank.

Hmm.. is there some control in all chiller to slowly cool down the water. Cos if there is a sudden change in temp.. the LS might die..?

The termostat in your chiller should be able to shut the condenser down when the preset temperature is reached. Does it not?

Oh I missed your point.... you need not worry about the chiller pulling down the temperature too fast because there isn't any hobby chillers big enough to cool a tank so fast that it'll threaten the well being of the animals in there.
