Help id what are this stuffs

Hey reefers !

Anyone knows what are this stuff around wave makers, live rocks and even coral shells ? It disseminates easily if you touch it and gets into the water . Then it will come back again the next day .

Could be algae stuffs? I see my angelfishes and foxface nipping the rocks occassionally for those stuffs.

Haha but I thought algae kinda sticks ? But this drops easily like when you remove the wave maker out of the water some gets into the water

Lol no mah there are algae bloom and the algae are kinda free moving too.

I do have white sponge like material in my wave maker though but not like yours.

I'm interested to know too. I have lots of them too and it doesn't look like algae.

Some light research shows it could be brown microalgae.

I had these too, during the early stage of my previous tank. But it was not as bad as yours look.

Was told by a reefer it is Dinoflagellates. Correct or not, I do not know.

I was siphoning it out every water change, till one day it just stopped appearing and then not seen again.
