When I bought this RBTA 1 week ago, it's bubble was all close to each other, and it was only about 1" in diameter.

Now it expanded till its bubble tentacles so far apart and open to 2.5" diameter.

Is this normal?

it normal... they will sometime close up and some time open big big... but once they settle down.. it will be ok. ensure your water parameter are ok... that is more important.

If condition is right, it starts to split. I have 2 in my tank within 1 months. Good luck and have fun. Not sure about the trick, i did massive amount of WC every day for a week plus.

I have the same 'breed' of pink bubble tip anemone.

Quick query

- What's your feeding regime for the anemone like?

- Is it stringy (in pic1) when lights come on? Or at the end of the day (after a full day of light)?

I feed 2-3 times a week, with a small piece of fish meat.

Can answer the 2nd question yet, cause just had it not long and did not really monitor the time.

Speaking from what i have in my tank, this breed of anemone has less zooxanthellae (hence more transparent) tend to be less bubbly when hungry.

I feed it some raw market prawn meat occasionally & its bubbly & 'more' compact on that particular day.

I've also found this type of bubble tip to be bubbly when lights just come on. But do expel some 'stuff' along the day & tend to be less bubbly towards the end of the lighting period.

There are other types of bubble tip anemone that have more colors. They tend to retain its bubbles for a longer period throughout the day & over many days.

I assume it has more zooxanthellae and hence better able to provide food for the anemone.
