fishes tend to adopt to higher temp than corals

if u have corals yr temp should be at least 26 to 27 degrees

for fishes about 28

best to have a cooling fan if u don have any chiller

Thks for the advice, another Q can fish able to adopt 30 degree?

I think 30 degrees is a bit too hot. I have been using 2 clip-on fans (bought from Tangs), each working for 3 hours interchangeably, directed at my lights and the surface of the water. They have so far managed to bring the temperature down to 27 degrees.

I use to hv a 2.5ft IOS reef tank by cooling the temp using ac fan n temp down to 26-27degree but top up water everyday, very siong. Now intented to upgrape to 3X2X2 with sump tank but not keeping coral only FOWLR.Any bro here having FOWLR with temp around 30 degree?

Me!

My tank temperature hovers at 30-31 degrees but i can't be sure if the thermometer i got in the tank is accurate or not. Mine's a 2x1x1.

Kopi: Not necessary for a fan if the tank temperature does not rise too high like beyond 30. If it does, then you should consider using a fan, you can DIY a fan by using computer fans.

Setting up marine tank not that hard, just that there are more things to take note of in a marine tank. Of course, you have to do your homework as well.

Just use a thermometer to measure the water temperature and decide from there whether installing a fan/chiller is necessary or not. For reef tank, i think the recommended temperature range would be 25-28. For fowlr, i think you can afford a range of 26-30.
