kohanson
My gsp look ok? Sent from my SM-N920I using Tapatalk yes! Definitely ok, as long as they are swaying with the water and not stiff or contracted all the time, they are ok. If you can see the purple mat extending out which is in lighter colour, it means they are growing. SRC Member JMW Posted January 9, 2016 SRC Member Share Posted January 9, 2016 Yeah try to up your ratio of blue light, blue brings out their green.. Under more whitish light they tend to look tan
SRC Member f16driver Posted January 11, 2016 SRC Member Share Posted January 11, 2016 Do you have chaeto in that refugium? I think it's an awesome idea. But increasing water volume may proof too stressful for an underpowered chiller
SRC Member tuajia Posted January 11, 2016 SRC Member Share Posted January 11, 2016 Hope it's not bleaching but that does look a bit too white. For a small tank I think 30-40% white is enough... For my 2ft I don't dare go beyond 40%. Can your lights be dimmed? Gsp is hard to kill even in low light but too high light can destroy everything. Even my unkillable mushroom died under high light Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

Even my unkillable mushroom died under high light Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk Yeah my sp look very white. I suspect it not GSP may be WSP (white star polyps). I suppose to wc for weekly about 20%. But I had not do any wc for almost 2-3 month, just top-up water and my wsp and crown fish are still doing well. Just recently this 2 week i have the Cyanobacteria (red slime algae) blooming at my refugium. My lights is dimmable. I have try full white light and full blue in max for 1 week. The star polyps look the same, growing well and no colour change. Edited January 12, 2016 by DesLeow
DesLeow
Do help to do the refugium bro? I have show the item to buy. Just get the breeder box + water pump (not exceed 600 l/h , prevent water spill out) and get the planted tank led light will do. Compartment in the refugium, up to you to put. I'm using a sudo satellite breeding box L. The 1& 2 compartment to hold chaeto & live rock (mini size) and last compartment i put some media filter (sera siporax mini 2 bag). Beside i also keep 1 brittle starfish.
