Hi, have you tried keeping mushrooms? Do your angels nip at them?

They don't actually nip mushroom, they nip the rock that come with mushroom end up detaching the mushroom so not recommend if you put mushroom. I haven't try big piece yuma. Elephant ear mushroom they don't nip

I will just have a mini faq

Q: Do clam need low temperature ?

A: In my experience no Just properly acclimate it before adding it.

Q: OMG you got so many angelfish ??? Will they nip on it?

A: definitely yes. You need to train them to know what's food first. For exam everyone I move near the tank and raise my hand, all the angel will come to the display. That's is because they know food is coming

Q: Do clam need strong light?

A: my clam live in sump for 4 months without any light lol

Q: do they need to be fed?

A: yes they are filter feeder so chances are they can find food in establish tank.

Q: how much is 1

A: expensive due to clam is regard as hard coral with cities

Q: YOU SO irresponsible how can you let clam live in such condition

A: I treat my angel like my child, they deserve abalone some time.

I've decide to put UV in my tank. Well since the benefit is more than the harm so why not .

Okay maybe there's much of a post. Oh another thing is never add octopus into a reef tank. Mine ate my fish even they are fast swimmer lucky removed it without affect my rock scape.

Ps my tank is 3.5x2x2.5 size

Haha need to acclimate if they want it to stay at this temp. Can't suddenly jump. Because to get from shop in bag cause they are being use to room temp for a moment

The octopus must have been super happy to enter your tank with all the fishes around it. Rem reading a post in another forum about this guy who bought corals and end up had an octopus as hitch-hiker. He kept it for few months before tank crashed due to equipment failure.

Very intelligent and beautiful creature but need to be species tank. =)

Well just sharing not only Angels and leather

I also keep

Other fish such as leopard wrasse

My leopard wrasse eat pellet but it is not easy for them to recognize them as food.

When I first introduce into the tank, it hide in the sand for 1 week.

Luckily for me , mine eventually come out with swim with the fishes. Once he observe other fish eating pellet. He follow up and enjoy the delicious pellet like how my cleaner wrasse do.

Recent upgrade due to high bioload

New addition, I have add and put purigen in a FR. It's going be hard time taking them out and regenerate but I'm just going change brand new once it's exhausted. Anyway I put in under fr so I can control it with a flow valve, I want water to pass through slowly to make sure it absorb all the stuff in the flow. In my experience it's a very good produce so maybe I going to show the test kit result someday as in my 2ft, they instantly reduce the nitrate in a week. Anyway for my bio pellet skimz br80. The power pump is leaking out electric and I got shock a few time. I've ask for replacement yet no reply from AM. Well I've self DIY and use dymax 800 so far so good. The biopellet tumbling without any problem.

Most important thing in leather tank is iodine.

If you want turn them to luminous green. High light and iodine dose will allow it to bleach and recover to green

Careful with that UV, china made one right? I saw one that melted the inner casing caused by the heat produce by the bulb. when the casing melt, it will release toxin into the tank.

 

For purigen, to recharge it, i put it out in the sun for a week, look almost like brand new after that. haha

 

bro check with you, where u buy that red ATS light? (The one u hang over a pvc piping one.)

During my years in src and reefing I've always make a mistake everyone had made before. That was throwing all the fishes into the tank without reading.

In the present I've actually off my chiller and let it run fanless. And decided to keep only leather , angel and some wrasse and tangs due to their ability to acclimate with warmer water. My advise anyone who read this thread not to follow my ways as my house is not hotter than orchard road during the afternoon as there're many tree around.

Long story short I've one algae scrubber and one mini fuge. I also use bio pellet with one good skimmer.

My water change is..... Whenever I put new fish or every 2 week? But only 10%

I'm still learning and I'm glad i come this far without giving up. Maybe people love my scape and ask me to help them with it. It's my hobby to do scape and it is also my interest to see fish swimming around.

I'm running on zet light so somehow it's showing deep blue on my phone camera

So hard to take a picture since all fish is hiding.

My most favorite fish? Powder blue tang. The key of keeping one is make sure they eat. As long they eat they survive.

I'm going to change to xf150 today. Let's hope my leather will sway abit more.

Ps: this is the cheapest set up everyone can achieve since the coral are leather and beautiful like hard coral.

Ps2: only regret is that I can never keep clam in this tank. Well at least I can keep angel ~

PS3: angel eat anemone in my tank. The moment I put inside the tank, all the angel attack it and pull the fresh out. Even my onyx and percula can't save it.

Sorry guys , Keeping leather is a big chore for me having a 2.5 height tank.

I've decom my tank and sadly to say leather is also challenging to keep. 

Why would i say so ,

Do you know leather will give out toxic to slowdown growth of other coral?

And if a leather die, the water will turn milky if you do not have good system.

I've also realize it is hard for me to take photo with such a thick glass.

So i've my next project coming. I really love angel but this time i want to try something different.
