I really spent a loooooooonnnggg time considering my skimmer choice, ended up with this new Skimz SC165 during Aquarama 2015. Had my reservations at first, did some research on it and found nothing except that it uses a "Messner" Made In Germany pump and display set at a rock bottom price = GRAB!

The skimmer produces very constant and fine bubbles

Thanks bro~! :eyebrow:

Hi, able to provide the spec of the skimz SC165? Can't find them on aquamarin website. Thanks.

Hi bro, theres no specs available online for this new skimmer as it has not launched officially yet. Its using the messner pump this time round and its rated for aquariums up to 1200L, in terms of measurements its somewhere in between SM161 and SM201.

If you need any other info, you can PM me. I will try my best to provide it to you

Bro, whats this thing under the rocks ah? The use of it?

Bro u mean the green coloured mats? I put those mats under the rocks to support them and to avoid contact with the glass as they have quite pointed base and really heavy too

Don't mind I ask how much did you spend on the profile stand? Is it more expensive than a wooden cabinet or?

Hi bro, base on the quotations I have, making a cabinet is twice the cost of my aluminium profile. But of coz this is not the finished tank set yet, I am getting a carpenter to customise doors to it at a later stage. Of which I believe I will end up somewhere near to the cost of making a cabinet too.

However, I like the flexibility of this aluminium profile stand for example, I can easily remove the center supporting piece and remove the sump or I can shift the supporting piece at the side inwards if I need to utilise more space there, and it's definitely more spacious within.

Once you custom a cabinet... It's basically there dead until u change your tank set.. You can't change anything anymore...

Hi bro, I got mine at daiso. It's actually those thick cutting mats for arts and crafts. Daiso is actually a reefers paradise. Can find many things u need there haha

Thats gd info bro! Thanks. Btw, do u guys glue the rocks tgt? Im just afraid the rocks may come tumbling down

You are most welcome bro, just sharing

Im more of the kiasu and kiasi (you can see that from my set up, double return, double overflow, triple or more wm etc lol) type so i chose to use epoxy for the rock scape instead of glue.. its not a must but its good to have.. Ive seen many reefers who dont glue or epoxy their rocks so its way easier to rescape in the future.. its just personal preference..

This is the epoxy i used, very solid once its hardened.. of coz there other reefing brand choices like DD and tlf, you can check them out at madpetz

Nice tank bro! Who is your tank maker? Love to see a pic of the sump!

Thanks bro~! :D Engaged AA for my tank and stand

Have not taken a pic of my sump in operation mode, but this is a empty one with the basic equipment

Just running it for cycling with 3 blocks of marine pure, 4 litres of siporax and a couple of live rocks from a kaki to speed up the cycling.. dosing mb7 and prodibio for bacteria.. dumped in alot of expiring fish pellets into the filter sock at the same time hahhaha

Still need a week or two before i can add anything... the itchy hand syndrome is unbearable............................................

its a big change from LED to t5, but i feel really excited with this ATI Sunpower dimmable.... The spread is superb..

However, I have heard that dimmable sets reduces the life span of the tubes, but not sure to what extend. Any bros with experience using dimmable t5 sets can share your experience??
