Anyone can help????

Ja, the efficiency and bubble size of the beckett injector is regulated by the air flow, that's why they need an airtight injector chamber.

mine dun hv the big bubble problem, butta water leaking out from the beckett cos i removed the o-rings that lock the beckett in place.  :erm:

6540 is definitely not enuf  :fear:

I also noticed that the bubbles would link together and get bigger as they move up the column....maybe cos they are not small enough in the first place.....

So what's the next big thing.....????

Iwakis.....???? running on 170W????

BTW, the Hailea runs a flow rate of 5800 l/hr and is running on 200Ws..... was wondering if they are pressure rated???

Cos if they are, then firing up the Beckett would never be a problem.....

Spade, you have to remove the O rings in order to fit them into the pipe.... right???

Recommend that you use plumbers tape to secure the Beckett together...

6500 litres/hr should be enough. There might be something wrong with ur beckett column. I run mine on 3000 li/hr and it has very fine bubbles. I use a plastic air valve to control the air intake and it does not take much to form the fine bubbles. Typically Beckett should be able to run on a SEN900 which is equivalent to the Oceanfree 9000 which is around 5000 li/hr and non-pressure rated.

Robe, I think one thing thats different is that SPade and myself have opted for a 6 inch column body..... so maybe that's why a 6540 wasn't enough to fire it up efficiency....

I will work with getting the Beckett as air tight as possible... also using the green valve that you are using..... maybe the Becketts not tightly secured so air get in thru the gap....

Only issue is where can I find a 5000l/hr pump... that doesn't run on too high wattage...

Note : Used a Laguna 5 but not successful.... its running on 4850l/hr.... same effect as the 6540...

Maybe the 6540 is pressure rated.....

Think I would need to try run my Beckett on the Ocean Runner....

Anyone with a Ocean Runner to allow me to test run my SKimmer.......??

Phang,

That 6 inch colum needs at least two beckett head to generate enough bubbles to fill the riser tube and it requires at least an MD55 or better an MD70 to run it.

A single Beckett is good for up to a 4 inch riser tube only. A beckett needs the air to be regulated to generate the fine bubbles. After a certain amount the air will get too big and it becomes a fountain head.

If u want a finer air controller get a pneumatic speed controller used in pneumatic cylinders to slow down the piston speed. I just intalled one on my skimmer. SMC, Festo, Bimba and others are available.

Robe.... the Aerofoamer ustilise one Beckett for their 6 and 8 inch models.....

Anyway... have secured the Beckett and ensure that the housing is airtight....

Thanks guys.... it is now working but to push it to it fullest efficiency... think must get a higher flow and pressure rated pump......
