Lawnmower blenny

Hi Guys, anyone has first-hand experience with this fish? Is it really a good algae eater? And is it 100% reef-safe? And is it aggressive?

My personal experience on this fish is that it doesn't do a better job than a lage blenny. So far it doesn't nip on any of my Lps in the tank

Oops I though is another blenny. My two algae blenny also busy eating algae not touching any corals .

Tks Weisong. Read that sea hare can secrete toxins if stressed. And this may kill other inhabitants. You have good experience with it?

Mine .. aquired a taste for the brine shrimp and NLS therra A pellets that I am feeding to the rest of the fishes.

this alage blenny does a great job in my tank... been eating non stop.. but the problem it is a jumper, so better cover your tank.. also if there no more algae to eat, he will up lorry very fast

Am stocks them often. But they arent good algae eater, lazy. Ends up camping for pellets everyday. Quite aggressive in my case as well. I own 3 algae blenny previously.

1 jumped.

1 asked for it. Kept kissing my naso tang that is much bigger. She returned him a kiss of death.

1 got stuck in a pump (jumped)

Get sea urchins or sea hare for better algae job.

Hmm mixed reviews on the blenny. As for urchin, it eats more coralline algae than nuisance algae. Does not work.

I've got 2 tuxedo urchins in my 2 month old tank, and I find them very useful in eating film algae off the glass and back wall. No issues with them eating coralline as it's still growing fast on my rocks.

I think Algae Blenny frequently found in CF, AM, Irwana and Sealife.

Size usually around 2", though occasionally you may find a 1.5" specimen. Personally have not seen any smaller than 1" specimen in any LFS.
