I think u are getting it all wrong again. Tank cycling should be done with rocks in the tank, preferably live rocks ,

Dead rocks can be used but it will take longer time to cycle ,

The idea is to cultivate bacteria that will run the 'ecosystem' in the tank

Man didn't know that. But before I put live rocks inside my tank, will the ammonia, nitrite and nitrate spike in the tank? And do I need to cure it before I put it inside my display tank?

How long have to rock been outside your house?

Put the rock back in your tank. Your tank will cycle again. Wait a week or 2. Test for ammonia nitrite and nitrates. If ok you may add lifestock. But leave the liverock in your tank. Don't take it out

Really an interesting process bro..

Cycle must have something for the beneficial bacteria aka BB to stay onto, be it rocks n biomedia like BactKing,biosphere,ceramic rings, marinepure block,etc..my recommendation is add in ur rocks (scape properly as to b able to place ur corals) n dose bacteria (follow the instruction of dosing)..u can add in 1 or 2 fish then..cheers n happy reefing

Bro, imo

- you didn't cause ammonia to spike which explains the reason why the process takes so long.

- fish died because cycling process not complete, not enough bacteria for livestock.

- nitrite and ammonia still exist which is toxic to livestock.

- I don't think you did a major wc to bring down nitrate after the cycle you said u succeeded.

- most probably you did not understand the cycling process, usually about 1 month.

- I don't think the liverock will still be there if u put it in sea.

Suggest you to put liverock and pour in NSW ! It will help cycle faster !
