terryansimon
a close loop is where water is sucked into a pump and re-directed out again without being filtered.
SRC Member scarab Posted March 13, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted March 13, 2004 a close loop is where water is sucked into a pump and re-directed out again without being filtered. Thanks bro. I'm using a SCWD with a pump in the sump. Does this qualify as a closed loop?
SRC Supporter Joe_P Posted March 13, 2004 SRC Supporter Share Posted March 13, 2004 Thanks bro. I'm using a SCWD with a pump in the sump. Does this qualify as a closed loop? Nope... A closed loop channels water from the tank back into the tank... What you have now is water overflow into sump and returned back to the main tank via a pump/SCWD... You would be required to have a hole/holes drilled for this... Pretty useful for chiller applications.... Actually a combination of various wavemakers in the reef would be advantageous....
