Can Some one tell me why my green hammer have this kind of polyp expansion? See center of the picture the left side of the right coral. It is like this for a few weeks already, it's like a large bubble and it was so huge last night that I can see the skeleton, even when the lights are out the bubble is still there except that it is smaller

water parameter change.. my jewel coral also the same sometimes.. esp during water change. Should be ok after a while but do check the water.

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

My LPS also have such systoms when I change water? I presume they are stressed. When back to normal soon after water change.

Mine doesn't seem to go away eventhough I have changed water twice. The hammer got this "bubble" since I used a tunze stream 6100 but I don't think it has anything to do with the pump as the polyps expanded very well except the over expanded tentacle. Today another tentacle is bloated like the one in the picture. Still trying to figure it out. I have this hammer for about a year now.

I have also looked for the answer at the WWM crew, Anthony Calfo, author of the book on Coral Propogation said that this may be a possible strategy of reproduction where the "bubble" will leave the coral and get itself stuck to another piece of rock to grow.

I suppose you need certain conditions for propagation and I just have to wait and see what happens next. BTW another "bubble" appeared in the same colony yesterday.
