Tank Advice

Hello All,

I would like to upgrade to a 4ft tank with cabinet and sump. I am relatively new to the hobby - have had a 2ft for a year.

Could someone advise a good place to buy such a setup? Should I get someone to build me one for cost-effectiveness?

First of all congrats on upgrading!....a custom made one would be beneficial in terms of being practical and as well decorative.... What is your budget like by the way for a 4 footer?

wah 4ft....how i hope i have the $$$...hhhmmmm...i think there's someone called Tank Maker in the forum, nvr see him b4 but i heard he is good....

having a customised tank might cost a little bit more, but wats the point of having a ready-made tank that doesn't fit your house...instead of beautifying your home, it will look akward...

There's a marine shop next to Farmart that sells custom tanks very cheaply. It's a cluster of shops and the shop in qn is deeper in. Full set-up for a 3 footer w/o chiller cost me 750; 4 footer w/chiller I am not sure. Quite ok to date and am currently setting up.

Believe that Octopus Bay also sells these tanks, and have a 36 x 24 x 22 on display if u wanna see...good luck!

Thanks, Siput, Tybrobin, and AP (hard to spell), for your inputs. I am hoping to get a tank with overflow, sump, piping and cabinet (ideally with louvres) for about $1000. I don't know how realistic this is! Less of course would be better.

Found his namecard. Owner is Edwin Tan. Place is called Wakai and is at 65 Sg Tengah Road. Url www.wakai-farm.com.sg. the pakages are under the marine tank section. I think there is some mistake there as the 3 footer for 750 does not include chiller unlike what they say on website, but the 4 footer does. Hope that helps. Cheers!!!
