SRC Member patrick123 Posted April 9, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted April 9, 2004 Hi Bro, You finally got your setup going. hehehe I tend to agree with the rest of them that Tunze is a better solution. You can probably hide the wireing inside the hook, as for the Tunze itself, don't worry about it, as when the coralite algae grow on it, you will not even notice it. In the long run, the Tunze is going to save you so much electricity compare to the Iwaki MD70. BTW, for your close loop, I assume you are not going to let the water filter through the sump, so why not use a submersible powerhead inside the overflow chamber in the main tank and just pump it though the SCWD? In this case, you don't need powerful pump like Iwaki. BTW, I have just bought a H&S 150 from SL this last weekend too. I could not use the 200 since my cabinet is very low. The packing look exactly like yours except it only comes with one Aquabee pump. One more thing, 220kg of C0 sand is not enough. My tank was delivered this last weekend, and I dumped in 170kg of C0 sand, and it only filled up about 2-3 inches. I'm overseas right now, and when I'm back in Singapore, I will buy another 100kg of C1 sand and put on top of the C0 sand. In your case, you probably need another 50-80kg of sand. May be you can use a net and then put C1 sand on top. BTW, do you mind sharing with me how much is the oceanrunner pump? Is it 6500L/hr? Did you get your iwaki in SL too? How much is that? Thanks, Patrick

Thanks, Patrick thanks patrick for the tips.. can't use a submersible pump for the close loop as it will not be strong enough to generate the current.. SCWD is power by a return Ocean Runner pump and is not part of the close loop.. guess i can't revert to tunze as i already purchase all the stuff...btw, congrats on ur choice of skimmer will put the sand in first and see how b4 deciding or not to get more.. have also pm u concerning the ocean runner 6500.. SRC Member patrick123 Posted April 19, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted April 19, 2004 Nice setup. Will look stunning after you turn on the light. What light do you plan to use? Any picture of your sump and your H&S running? Cheers, Patrick
SRC Member unknown Posted April 19, 2004 Author SRC Member Share Posted April 19, 2004 just completed a rescape... pics to be up later.. one thing weird i notice is that there does not seems to be an ammonia spike for my tank at all.. NO2 is now 0.1ppm while NO3 is 5ppm... does it means that i am coming to the end of my first cycling??

Anemone
hmm i dun think cycling should be over so fast. u got cured live rocks? perhaps not enough die-off on your lr to kick start the cycling process. IMO u should add a market prawn or 2 to start the cycle.
