It actually depends what U have in your new tank.

If u have new dead rocks , new sand and using new salt mixed water then There will be ammonia released and these are not good for corals and fish.

However if you are using old rocks ,old sand(subjective , old DSB is no good) and old water or new salt water then it should be ok to transfer livestocks with minimal casualty.

If using live sand then it's still ok. Need to let them settle till water clears up before putting in the corals.

It still depends on the size of your tank/water volume, if tank is small I would let the water settle Abit longer before transferring the corals.

Ps: new salt water is NSW seawater from lfs

Currently using nano tank 400mm square cube to 2ft square cube with sump water volume for the new tank including sump is 430L.

Will be buying live black sand (have no idea what it call)

ok. But I have a issue which I only have 1 chiller for now. not planning to buy chiller first, just want to see if the old chiller can work in my new tank or not. any solutions for this issue?

1. your chiller is what size?

cause old tank is 40cm cube max volume is 64liters. if add in sump at most 100liters.

now ur new tank as u mentioned is 430liters. unless u severely used an overpowered chiller for ur old tank, then logic dictates your old chiller cannot use for ur new one. not say cannot use but it will be super inefficient.

Hi,

my old tank is an nano tank got no sump in it. about my chiller is the resun mini 200, I thought of changing the chiller but my wife want me to give it a try for a month of less than that. anyway I recalculate the new tank size including the sump is 371.1L. So now will have problem with transferring the corals.
