Can someone help to identify what is wrong with my fish please?

I had a clownfish for 2 weeks in my 40 gallon and it was doing alright. Bought a sandstar and another clown from ahbeng and they both died in 2 days. Now my first clownfish Carl has a weird white ring around his eye!! Did the death of my other fish cause contamination in my tank? I have attached a photo for reference. Please help I don't wanna lose him.

maybe your clown fought until 1 die?

sand sifting star? I think starfishes usually don't die easily especially in 2 days unless the water quality is very bad.

If a sandstar can't even survive 2 days in your tank something is definitely very wrong with your tank :/
