huh.. no.. dunno of any open house..

I also dunno why grow so fast.. I tot sponges grow very fast..no?! ;)

Seahare are nudibranches.. they only eat healthy blue sponges..

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

Not all seahares/nudibranchs/sea slugs eat sponges. Their diet varies from algae to sponges to corals and goodness knows what else. That's why they don't last very long in captivity.

Sponges will grow very fast if they get good water circulation coupled with lots of food ie. phytoplankton.

The blue sponges we commonly see are mildly photosynthetic, they can be placed in lighted areas but the danger with most tanks is that nutrient levels are high and cyano may grow on the sponge surfaces and kill it.

yah.. the ones I kept were the white seahares.. Only eat blue sponges. They sorta know when the sponges are dead and refuses to eat them.. I had a pair.. I bought a new blue sponge and they refused to eat it.. kept going back to the old one.. they finally finished the old one and died starving.. I only realised why when few days later the sponge start to turn pale..

they thrive well in non lighted areas with good water flow.....never had sucess with sponges until a few years back.... :D strong lighting promotes algae growth on these growing sponges.... ;) mine grows best under alot of shade never had success under strong lighting. Bought another yellow sponge doing well under some shade right now.
