bro, try setting your skim level higher.... wat's your tank size? how long is the tank around? if its at least a few months... there should be something to skim... if not... you set up the skimmer wrongly... :)

hey bro, y not try to remove the venturi and inject the water inlet directly...add a air pipe to the water inlet of the pump and let the impeller chop the air...the bubble should be find enough if your propeller has 5 or more blades....if not can DIY a needle wheel...pic as below....

Bro...I used to have one..a simple 1200l/hr pump gave me kopi-o already. Your pump is way too strong. There is a recommended flow rate to follow on the box. In fact, it should be around 1200l/hr if I did'nt remember wrongly.

Bro FueL,

is dat true? when i was using a less powerful pump, it seems that there are lessers bubbles...a dn by the time the bubbles reach the top... like very little liao....:)

After upgrading the pump, more bubbles seems to reach the top... :)

I myself have a Weipro 2014. When buying a powerhead, do look at the head pressure. Some powerhead can move quite a bit of water but are quite low in head pressure. If you use a low head pressure powerhead for your Weipro, the bubbles will be big and less of them. If you use a high head pressure powerhead, the bubbles will be more and smaller. Also, if your powerhead push too much water through your skimmer, the bubbles dont have time to collect all the organics and you will only get clear or very light brown skimmate in the collection cup. Some tank are low in organics so dont expact "Kopi-O". :D:D

Do look at the head pressure of your powerhead. This might explain the results people get with different powerhead.

Hope this helps!

Typorobin : U stuck a bio ball onto your impeller?? how it going to fit into the pump??

FueL : thats the problem pple have different opinions..some say a large pump will draw more air and finer bubbles..into the skimmer ..which is what I am getting.. I used a Atman 203 before..rated 1800l/h on the pump but on the box says 2000l/.h.....but I get very little skimmate as well and not that much bubbles.

Fecgoh : What is head pressure and how I know which rating is it>

My present Atman - 106 pump was rated 2500 l/h I think on the box but on the pump it self says 4000l/h !!!!!!!! running at 85 W...so I think its correct since 1800/h runs on 32 W

And the recommened rating for Weipro 2013 on the BOX is 500 gph...that calcs to x 3.78 to 1890 L/h
