MK's shallow

Hello guys/girls,

I have been keeping a 20gal nano cube for quite a few months now and have long been poisoned by minimalist nano shallow reef setups that I saw online along the way. Now that the time has come (by the time, I meant budget. ) and have engaged Vincent from AA for my upcoming tank, I thought I should start a thread to document my journey. Even though the supposed delivery date is on 28th this month, I'll share my plan with gurus. It is going to be a mixed reef with a heavy lps section, zoa garden, this little and that little . Below is my current plan.

Setup and equipment list

Tank : 24" x 24" x 10" (Herbie overflow for silent and minimum footprint)

Sump : About 18" x 20" x 12"

Skimmer : Have my current nac qq and will try if it works well first

Light : AI hydra 26

Mech filtration : 4" 150micron filter sock

Chemical filtration : rowaphos reactor and carbon reactor

Chiller : resun cl280

Return : Jebao DC3000

Wavemaker : Current tank's 2xrw4

Water source : Zero DI

Salt : DD h2ocean pro

Supplements : biodigest and bioptim

Please do suggest me if there can be better improvements and don't forget to share your shallow reef setups for inspiration and poisoning too.

It's too shallow, u need to tune down ur hydra26 else ur lps will get bleach.

The 2 led lights look more to razor nano to me cos I am using that

Those are current ones I'm using bro. I'll be upgrading to hydra26 for the upcoming tank.

New update people!!!

The tank set has reached my living room. It's a wet day today with water all over the floor while filling. I've set the salinity at 1.025 and filled the caribsea oceandirect sand for about a cm. Just put in the prawn for cycling and dosed biodigest.

Your filter sock ring over your sump tank height. Made sure it dun choke and overflows out of ur sump. Then u gonna have wet floor to mop up again.

Actually it is supposed to sit on the holder. I raised it a bit to see how long only.

So, my tank has been cycling for about 3 days. What I noticed is the cloudy water in white shade since the start. Is this a normal cycling process? I'm afraid that it would be the calcium precipitation from salt mix. I use DDh2ocean.
