Is fake plastic rock good idea?

Recommended Posts

My live rock growing algae. Brown brown green green. Ugly.

I feel like changing it to fake plastic rocks.

Good idea?

Live rock definitely better than plastic rock. you will appreciate more when your live rock get mature..It not only for display.. It is also serve as important biological filter to ensure your tank health. Cheers and Happy Reefing

Dont get fake rocks. Had bad experience with them. They grow algae faster than actual live rocks. Not sure if it contains high silicates or leaching phosphates, nonetheless, not a wise idea.

I hate the brown brown green patch. It looks like rusty rocks. How can i stop them from growing?

I believe your situation shld be new tank syndrome?

Try reduce light period. WC more often 20% WC regularly using good salts and siphon the residual from tank . Reduce feeding. Also, you may adding some cleaning crew & good bacteria will help to control them.

Cheers and Happy Reefing..
