Maybe you can increase your flow to carry the waste into your overflow box?

Thanks. Problem solve. I add a watch man goby to shift the sand. Out flow point downwards and wave maker point upwards.

Is this method effective to send the unwanted and poos up and filter out down from the overflow?

Other than such, how do you intend to siphon your sandbed? Not siphoning?

I asked because same, my sand is too fine and will be sucked up if siphoned too.

I have 2 outflow pointing down, and my wave maker I point it slightly up towards the front glass.

after this there is an improvement, I see lesser poop lying on the sandbed.

I bought a siphon but after I see not much poop lying around I just siphon the water.

maybe u can try to adjust your out flow and your wave maker till u get the best result.

Nope! Why? Does a watchman goby helps?

I am also not sure. But was told that they will shift and eat the sand. Those bigger poop will end up smaller after it exit from the grills. Thus making it easier for the water flow to move them into the over flow. When they shift the sand all the poop will also move around and won't stay at one area.

that's y after I add my watchman goby. My sandbed is must cleaner.

PS. Anybody correct me if I am wrong. this info was gotten from a nice uncle i when was shopping at fish shop.

The Yellow Watchman Goby does help clean the sand. But there is a possibility that it will only clean around the area where it hides and not the whole tank. For better coverage, a Diamond Watchman Goby may be better.

Hi Bro Derick, why does a diamond watchman goby have a better coverage? It goes around the tank and don't usually hide at the same place? Or that it's a tidy and clean animal, and likes to clean the sandbed if it gets dirty? I have to quickly get one goby, as the sandbed is becoming unsightly soon...

Yup. Diamondback goby. But beware... good jumper as well. Sand shifting star will keep the sandbed clean too.

Hi Bro, what does a sand shifting star eats? Other than shifting he sand, does it eats up the algae found on the sand?

And will a small Nigger triggerfish gobbles the starfish up?

the yellow watch mam onli clean around its cave. But the diamond will go around the whole tank if I am not wrong.

Hi Dez,

I myself never had a diamond nor yellow watchman. But from what I read from other reefers, the Yellow will stay around its cave or burrow and clean around that area, whereas the diamond moves around the tank. Maybe, if the Yellow can't find enough food around its cave, it may venture around searching, and thus clean the other areas, maybe.

Not sure about algae but definitely seen my tank clear from diatoms ugly sight when they shift the sand here and there. One thing for sure it will eat all leftovers and detritus on the sand.
