Blue Linckia Starfish dying?

Any starfish experts here can help me with this? My blue linckia starfish has been with me for more than 6 months. I have ensured proper acclimation when I bought it and it was doing fine initially.

However, since about 2-3 weeks ago, I noticed the tips of its arms seem to be disintegrating and the body look limp and not as firm as it should be. For the past few days, it has stayed at the same spot, moving just within inches of that spot. Below is a picture of it and a close up picture of one of the tips.

Would appreciate if someone can advise why/how this happened and how I can save it. Thanks much.

Not that I know of. Kh dropped from 7.5 to 6.85dkh early this week but over a span of 4-5 days. but the linckia was like this before this happened.

Wondering whether could it be salinity being maintained at 1.026? I read from various internet sources that the recommended range of salinity for linckia is 1.023-1.025. My tank salinity is maintained at 1.025-1.026.

My salinity is ard .024, stars r ok. The Plc I bought from is .026, so dun think is the salinity issue.

I guess it's due to temperature?? Dun think food and salinity is the issue here.

Temperature is maintained within 26 to 27 degrees.

It is dying. I hv kept this species of star fish a few times and always after a few months it will just die off with not apparent reason. Other species star fish no issue for me so far.

The last time I kept a blue linckia, I actually managed to keep it for about 1.5 years until my tank almost crash due to poor maintenance. Maybe that time lucky got a more healthy piece.

Btw of this starfish dead and cannot be found, would it be a disaster?

There will be decay causing ammonia etc.

It is dead.

most of the carcass eaten by nassarius snails.
