Dymax has T5's thats so affordable then the rest of the other brands. Purchased a 2ft set for my sump at $60.00 and saw the 3ft going for $80.00 and 4ft. going for $110.00.....

you can upgrade the bulbs if you want but they come with a low wattage with the lamp. Yes up to 40w as my supplier told me.... Bought from K&K aquarium at Tampines.

Back in 03 Aquarama. 2ft was selling for $45 an 3ft for $65.

Straight to the pt...u will knw how "Good" it is in abt 2wks time. unless u r super lucky.

Some info, 2ft - 20W, 3ft - 30W, 4ft - think is 40W

ok, here is my experience with Dymax T5 , bought a 2ft and a 3ft.

3ft one knock out in 1wk time, ballast spoilt. So i diy and rewired all connection to a Osram e-ballast and do it externally. Well, it works fine for abt 4 more days before the tubes die on me The 2ft is slightly better, it lasted 1 more wk than the 3ft and it has been lying ard since=give up on diying the 2ft also. Another person who has the same prob here is Kee. His 2ft dymax T5 also die on him=ballast faulty. And there are also quite a handful tat complains after purchasing it at Aqurama. If u do a search, u shd get more details.

IMO, it will be best to use only the casing (only thing i like abt ), get a 39W e-ballast and modify it externally (less heat in casing). And change the tubes to ATI or Acardia T5s which is rated at 39W rather then the 30W rated on Dymax T5s.

So, if urs last u, u must be really lucky.

alright...lets see if this one will last more then 2 weeks as stated. If not I guess I can still get another set in exchange or as money back warranty... I don't think its gonna give any problems....never had a light go out on me before..... instead i give up on them.....

not much marine just a small section...the rest is Freshwater.... They're bringing in the Macro Calcium Reactor and the Protien Skimmer too....

Gdluck in gettin the T5s, make sure tat which ever LFS u bought it frm allows u for 1 to 1 exchange shd anythin goes wrong with the T5, this is ur only assurance. Coz remembered clearly last year, some reefers's called up the agent for Dymax regardling his faulty T5 bought in Aquarama and he mentioned tat the agent is going over to his place to get it exhange but apparently, he nvr turn up.

Btw, they mentioned the T5 will be launch soon after Aquarama. Till todate, oreadi more than 6mths. Mayb dymax has held back their launch and done some improvement on their T5s .... and mayb tats y it took nearly more than 6mths before u seen them being sold in LFS.

let me see aquarama was in November....now is March.... probably they had time to upgrade the T5's and improve by now. Don't worry about the exchange you guy's because if theres any problems....I will personally make sure you either get your money back or exchange for a new set....

I was the one that bot the 2ft T5 Dymax from Aquarama. It spoilt within 3 days and I called the agent. They came down to my place to change it. But after using for a few weeks, I found that the tubes not so bright already. So I actually diyed it using Osram e ballast and ATI
