SRC Member christan1959 Posted February 14, 2015 SRC Member Share Posted February 14, 2015 My common clowns are spawning. This is the first marine spawning of mine, after 40 years in the tropical fish hobb. It's so exciting!!

SRC Member christan1959 Posted February 15, 2015 Author SRC Member Share Posted February 15, 2015 Thanks guys! Will keep u posted. I will probably buy copepods and newly hatched brine shrimp and put in tan. The eggs are in on foundation rock, so can't be moved. Let nature take itscourse. Funny. My freshwater ram cichlids also spawned, and a pair of burong kukus (a type of local bird) have made a nest on my window and the chick's chicks have hated # all on Valentine's Day! SRC Member christan1959 Posted March 10, 2015 Author SRC Member Share Posted March 10, 2015 First batch hatched and probably all eaten by other tank fishes. Laid second batch with the week, hatched last night and probably all eaten too. Anyone tried raising fries in sump?

Larvaes need lots of live rotifers and later bbs...u want to flood your sump with live rotifers? IMO not possible. First and second batch both gone? Didn't u try collect the larvae on the hatch nite? SRC Member christan1959 Posted March 11, 2015 Author SRC Member Share Posted March 11, 2015 I don't have resources to keep fries, so did not collect them. I was contemplating siphoning them into sump. Got lots of rotifers there. Have u raised marine fries before?

SRC Member christan1959 Posted June 1, 2015 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 1, 2015 Sorry bro, no method. Just buy a pair, maintain good water parameters, and feed them well.
SRC Member christan1959 Posted June 1, 2015 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 1, 2015 They've spawned 4-5 times already. But I've been too lazy to take them out.... So always eaten.

Marine.Clown
Whether breeding or not, I think the most important is you enjoy having the pair of Clown fish with you in your Aquarium
