Hi, I have got a Rainbow R250, which I set up as a marine tank, I did the test 5 in 1 test.. ph, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate is all okie.. Salinity is abt 1.018..

I also have got a dymax iq skimmer installed too.

Yesterday when I add in my fishes - 2 clowns, 1 damsel and 1 dottyback.. They look fine and they were feeding..

But this morning, I found them to be gasping, breathing quite fast and with gills opening and closing.. Abt 7am..

May I know what is wrong? Or any idea what is wrong..

Is it an overload?

Regards

Daniel

when u set up the tank?

sounds like ammonia issues.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes

Too many people spend money they haven't earned to buy things they don't want to impress people they don't like.

I used a hydrometer... It is a nano tank.. There wasn't a ammonia spike

Bro hydrometer is inaccurate. Invest in a refractrometer. From my understanding fishes breath easier with lower salinity. Your salinity might be too high.
