Jonathan Tan
Hmmm have been using the biofuel awhile... Nitrates drop to 0ppm hard , on the first day o.o ... From 160ppm to 0ppm within 3hrs. Have been like that for 3 days (0ppm) [Maybe because I remove all the fishes, crabs and snails remain and I do feed them] Hope this helps Cool, will probably try it out! Did the Nitrate level remain 0ppm after you start to input live stocks back in tank? Can update to share your views of Biofuel? Thanks. SRC Member Dez Ching Posted March 6, 2015 SRC Member Share Posted March 6, 2015 Nah too heavy stock for me ... had to switch to bio reactor ... =.= Haha I see. I thought that can be the key to mine… so your opinion, Bio reactor helps to keep Nitrate levels stable to what you had wanted?
Guest
For a small tank which has space constraint maybe can also use biosphere to help reduce No3 since it doesn't really need to run in a reactor.

SRC Member ytpmzy Posted March 15, 2015 SRC Member Share Posted March 15, 2015 Great news for you !!! Does you dose daily or ? I am using bio pellet reactor ... So it's kinda like daily dosage haha ... Bio fuel has enough kick to maintain nitrate at 40ppm as compared to 160ppm ... but it wasn't enough for me haha ... My aim is below
SRC Supporter SubzeroLT Posted March 15, 2015 SRC Supporter Share Posted March 15, 2015 If nitrates is high, The dose for biofuel is 5ml for every 50 gallon (~200L) daily The dose for Microbacter7 is 5ml for every 25gallon (~ 100L) daily I believe that if your goal is to bring it down to below 20, you can either 1) Increase to the recommend dosage of Brightwell BioFuel + Microbacter7 2) And/Or add more bio pellet in the reactor (more surface for bacteria) Quote Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/mysliceofnature/
SRC Member ytpmzy Posted March 19, 2015 SRC Member Share Posted March 19, 2015 Recently tested... Bio pellet reduced the tank NO3 to 2.5ppm ^.^ (with salifert test kit)....
