Have been getting my hands wet every once in a while just to get rid of algae growing on the walls of my fish tank..

I wonder if there is any cheap and reliable brands out there? Any recommendations ?

P.s Not coraline algae just brown and green stuff

Its actually quite important to purchase the right model for your tank.

Some cheap algae scrapers have weak magnets => not enough 'strength' to scrub the glass.

Don't waste time with cheap brands. I had one from Boyu....really can't clean a thing on 10mm glass.

That is, its important to buy one that is rated for the correct glass thickness. Some nano ones are designed for thinner glass & may not be good enough for say 10 or 12mm glass.

Popular & more affordable brands are MagFloat (They are the 1st ones to design one that floats. Can purchase an add-on to attach a blade) & Flipper (comes with a blade)

I believe the 'best' brand is AlgaeFree. Its also crazy expensive but apparently sells well because it uses a huge piece of magnet & hence have very strong cleaning power. http://www.algaefree.com/site/floating.html

I'm using the MagFloat (Large) ~ $30+ on 10mm glass.

It does an OK job.
