Maybe you can translate into figures from the instruction manual that comes with the test kit. Give the numbers and it will be easier for the experts to give you advice.

Which brand are you using? Maybe someone here who uses the same brand can help.

But if you have a FOWLR tank, you should not be overly worried with NO3.

i am using the tetratest for NO3 and yellow in colour indicate that your NO3 is 0mg/l.

I also use the Aqumedi a test kit to determine carbonate hardness. 8 drops into 5ml. of aquarium water and the solution turn yellow means your carbonate hardness is about 8 dKh. ie. each drop b4 and when it changes from blue to yellow is supposed to mean 1 dKH. You should not let your carbonate hardness fall below 9dKH but not more than 14dKh.

I think if 8 drops and the colour turns blue to yellow, the dhk = 8.

Every drop add 1 dkh.
