Brine shrimp or mosquito larvae

Realized a section of my sump tank was choked due to "bloated" cotton.

Found a lot of these creaturs wriggling out of the cotton and cannot confirm if these are brine shrimp having breed by themselves in my sump or the dreaded mosquito larvae.

Body translucent with a stripe of red across the back.

2 long feelers which makes me think that it should be brine shrimp.

Sizes upto 0.5cm long.

When place on my fingers, it wriggles about v fast like a centipede.

It's amphipods.
