Hey reefers !

In need of some advice !

As I have a blue diamond damsel and a six line wrasse which is very aggressive, always chasing new fishes when I add them in.

So I would like to catch them out but I do not know how as I do not want to stress the other fishes and corals inside !

Now have put a fish trap hoping they will enter !

Any other ideas ? Thanks !

Bro, do u know where they hang out at night? If they r not hiding inside LR & sleep, then will b easier..late into the night, on ur light..they will b blind for awhile..u can then net them..this depend on ur tank size & scaping to determine successful rate..anyway good luck to u :)

Just sharing my experiences....

Option 1:

Fish Trap Box with Long Fish Line attached to Trap Door ... ready to Shut when Fish goes inside works very well for me.

Enables me to catch all my 6 Damsels.

Option 2:

Waking Up @ 3am to catch other Bully Fishes works Superbly well for me too.

I prefer Option 2.

My tank is with Live Rocks.

Both of them sleeps under the live rocks , so it's hard to catch during the night . So I think I need something to lure them from hiding .

My tank is 2ft cube .

Thanks for the advice though !

Maybe I will try attaching the fish line to try out !

For the option 2, how do I catch at 3am when they are hiding ? I wouldn't mind waking up if I can catch it !

You have to know their sleeping habits.

If they always hide under certain rocks..... Try to re arrange the rocks position.

Leave the Wave Maker ON ..

Switch on lights when you approach tank at night.

Hope that they will be stunned & retarded. Allow the wave maker to 'move' their body around the tank ... Use net to catch.

It may not be successful on first attempt... try again.

I get my fish used to feeding mysis out of a turkey baster... slide open on end of the fish trap, and start releasing mysis with the TB inside the trap... u can lure the fish using the TB from outside the trap to the inside... then release the door once the fish is in... works for me all the time. Sometimes I dun even need mysis, they just follow my TB into the trap... the trick is to use a bigger trap, bigger the easier. Hope this helps...
