I had a 5mths old tank, consists of lots of different shrimps and crabs. Recently i started to hear snapping sound from the tank  .

I do not have a pistol shrimp and i dun think there is a mantis in there , cos most of my invertebrates is still around, including small ###### shrimps..... <_<

Wat could it be.........

Did you add any new LR recently?

The pistol shrimp may have hitchhiked from any new LRs. I have 1 in my tank, a hitchhiker.

No, i didnt add any LR.... it doesnt sounds like the the turbo snail is hitting the glass.... cos i have seen it hitting the glass b4

It is not snail nor fish, it is absolutely between pistol shrimp or mantis or both of them. Actually i have 2 pistol shrimp too in my tank, and it is hidden all the time but i know that at least one of them are still alive by its clicking sound. One is introduce by LR (this one is quite big), and the other is i bought it (this one is very beautifull with small appereance and red color), but both of them are never eat either my boxing shrimp nor my 3 ###### shrimp. So i think you shouldn't worry about your pistol :D , except if it was a mantis. :(

pistols.. I have sounds too. Saw a few times shell of a molted pistol shrimp.

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

Caught it little bugger hidding in a LR and also digging hole under the rock.

Think this is the pistol shrimp that's clicking around.
