Is it time to change the biosphere?

They have turned dark after one month in my sump to

it shd nt turn dark bro it need strong current n oxg as well i ve been using it almost 2yrs colour only turn a bit brown..

So if it turn dark, what it mean? Dark = black/ brown?

I placed mine in the skimmer chamber n it will get lesser n dark eventually after like ard 4mths..I put in more when it reduce more than half the volume..

Mine has a white fluffy slime coating them ..

Internally it's still white It's coated with dark stuff, looks like black to me Anyway wad should I do ? Just leave it ?

Fluffy slime means too much bacteria. Dark coating means the same.

Anyway, just wash it monthly with tank water.

So should I throw it and replace with new pieces. Or just leave it and add new prices?

Just leave it there but remember to top up every six to 12 mths. dont throw cos U wont want to throw away the BB.

Hmm..dark is too much bacteria, won't bacteria bloom cause water to b cloudy?..btw, can't find any info of polylab biosphere shd b what colour in google..so dark shd b ok as what bro andtsg say..thks bro

Just need to top up I top up every 3/4 month ( depend on you tank parameter and bioload ) some reefers top up every 6 month or more ,don't need to take out..just put biophere to fresh water for 24 hours before to put in your sump or to your skimmer.. Cheers
