SRC Member Acanthurus pyroferus Posted March 3, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted March 3, 2004 if they're in a large group would be nice.... looks like the marine catfishes but without the whiskers. Saw them them at Eaquarist last weekend...
lightningstrike
back to ur topic. engineer goby is not neon blue goby. engineer goby is dark blue to black on white in color. As a juvenile, the markings are horizontal, running the length of the body. With age, they become vertical bands. neon blue goby is dark blue with a striking horizontal light-blue stripe on each side beginning above the eye and running the entire length of the body. It is a cleaner species which will service tank mates and help control some diseases. Quote Austin the Westie: "I may be your best friend, but you are my everything". Lightning Strike's Back!!! KingFish
hard to tell if its a variant of Pholidichthys leucotaenia, or a Striped Catfish. You can probably tell by looking at its head to see if it bears the trademark catfish or goby look. lightningstrike, may I suggest you be a little more careful about your comments, do so when you're absolutely sure. aStRoBo|, will appreciate you cut down on mindless chatter.
