Ribbon worm

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I have a friend who offered me ribbon worms as live food for my fish in a mixed reef tank. I declined the kind offer based on not knowing much about it.

My friend said it is found at beach and mangrove.

Is it safe to intro it to a reef tank?

For your reference. It feeds at night upon mollusks, shrimp, crabs, and small fishes. Contains a long tubular proboscis that is used for sucking out vital body fluids in the animals it feeds upon. It is also used for burrowing. Besides crawling, they also can swim with undulations of their long body. Sometimes arrives on live rock, and thought to be an interesting oddity, however, not trustworthy in most aquariums. Should it be kept in an aquarium, needs pieces of raw fish and/or shrimp flesh spread on the sandbed surface in the early evening hours.

Reefing is sharing. People with rotten mouth is sure a loser for life as expected. When a tomato gets rotten, you can nvr save it.. Throw it away before it infect the good ones.
