Just a few pointers on keeping of non-photosynthetic gorgonians...

1. Feed twice a week with coral food.

2. Light doesn't really matter. I've placed it in high light and low light and it still stays the same.

3. Watch out for high nutrients environment. Once algae grows on the branches, it may stop extending its polyps.

Sounds easy? Try feeding twice while maintaining low nutrients environment... LOL!

So if you have an oversized skimmer, an excellent system to handle nutrients and bioload, then Welcome to the Gorgonians Club!

guys i just wanted to show you my seafan. It also has very blue polyps it almost looks purple but has a beautiful maroonish red stem. I simply love it and i cant wait to frag it and share it others. The last 2 photos are taken with flash in the dark.

Bro ericmz

Try this seafan. The easiest non photosynthetic that i have tried. Its still alive in my tank. Brilliant gold polyps on reddish dark base.

OMG!!!! the colors are striking gorgeous. The yellow will stand out beautifully against a nice coralline encrusted purple liverock!!! thanks for sharing!!!
